Vamps O Vamps; but where are the bloodsucking ones

"The serial is in exciting mode." my mother chuckled as she changed the channel of the Television, to my annoyance for a movie to a saas-bahu soap. Being just arrived from my final classes I was not in the mood of giving in to her demands. "Change it now!" I shot back, " You have already seen it in the night. Put the movie back."

I am not a great liker of these serial and like other I have my reason. Maybe my liking of authenticity of products might inflame my desires these industrialy produced 'Products'. But it was not always that, long long time ago, I was one of the first to switch on these serial just in order to escape agony of cricket and craze of newly bought television. But as the time flied and lenght of my shadow incresed by each passing year, I more and more became distracted from these serials.

However this relationship of love, then hate and finally the highest degree of animosity has its own reasons. When I started to watch them as a 12 year old, I was happy that the good is fighting against the bad and villains (and vamps) are bad, but not tyrant too that extent and each time there luck gives them a chance. This was rather a good period, I hated vamps but didn't loathed them. It was rather an entertaining experience. However as shrill of their vioices increased and so does the infidility within the main family of the serial, I began of hate serial. These serials, I felt, have no end, they just keep going on, and these vamps, they've stopped sucking blood, now they satisfy themselves by your mind and time. Torture got new meaning in the TV. But still, I watched them sometimes, as i felt, times they do change.

But my newfangled beliefs were misfounded. No, nothing has changed, or has it, yes, but it had became more shriller. More stinking, more revengeful. Good wasn't wining, moreover it was mauled badly.

Lack of Mannerism: A Case of Delhi

Well being born and bought up in Delhi has its own set of advantages and disadvantages. However the city still continues to bemuse me, even after having my upbringing here. I find it rather strange that an average Delhites still lacks basic sense of mannerism.

Let me take up an incident this morning as I left home for office this morning, since I was not feeling to walk I decided to take a rickshaw instead to the metro station. However at the crossing the Red lights were not working and there was complete chaos, and adding to this an RTV driver was in a such hurry that it seems that he had already decided to give all the road rules a sweet goodbye and instead kept honking his horn eventhough a bus was crossing the road on the other side. Heaven knows what was in the mind of that dickhead, does he want us to play superman or he was simply wants to settle some old score with the DTC bus which was crossing. That thing I may never find out, but that moron kept honking until he reached metro station much ahead of his peers; unconcerned about the lives of the people in the road and his own passengers. He might have won the Delhi Grand Prix but still has a lot to learn about how to win.

This was the case with rather poor and possibly uneducated class. But the case is same with the persons with a decent degree of education and grooming. Even after having that background it seems like these people aren't cultivated enough to behave in the movie theatre. Every time before a movie starts a small advert and a message is flashed acrossed the screen asking people to switch off the mobile phone. In this case one can atleast keep the phone in silent mode, and if the need be arise the leave to theatre lobby and then chat. But still that seems to be and onerous task, keeping mobile in the silent mode: whats the worth of buying a Rs. 20000 mobile; talking outside: sir, i dont talk to much or its emergency. Man, how cheapso you can get. Watching the movie, an intersting scene and suddenly a music, you try to locate- whether this music is the part of movie but to your dismay you find out that it was a ringtone. "Bloody hell", it will certainly your reaction, What a fucking day, in morning had a narrow escape of life and in the evening a narrow escape of peace of mind!".

Rahul Dravid: Rested, Dropped Screwed whatever

Headlines of popular Indian National daily reads "Dravid Dropped" and there it is dropping like a bomb on your head, a bomb which is not at all a bomb.

Media habitually has a habit of sensesationalising every piece of news it thinks as a good money spinning machine. This news was one such piece which fits to that description. In the following days sports editorial columns will be awash with the articles from various ex-cricketors and 'experts' on this decision of the board. Scrutinising bit by bit, piece by piece, word by word the decision. Hope that they show such diligence in innumerable criminal investigations going on in the country, atleast few deads would be able to rest in peace. Coming back to the point such diligence will ensure that cricket fans will be glued to the upcoming series with Pakistan where again each and every move of the players will be scrutinized. Oh my god! cricket has become an highly intoxicating, obsessive and paying phenomenon, even so called free press of India, the fourth pillar of democracy as it is called is drenched into this business, they are the dealers offcourse.

Coming back to the issue of Dravid, yes he has being rested (or dropped whatever view you take) but if he reads popular newspapers daily and specifically reads the sports page, he knows that he is screwed. "Bloody hell!" he might remark "A mountain out of molehill". But he will surely find comfort, possibly he is used to it (not being rested) but the media scrutiny. He must have already seen it in the Andrew Symonds controversy. Monkey chants given the name of racial abuse (Even Lord Hanuman will be thinking why now taking my name is creating such controversy, even if Bajrang Dal was'nt enough). So it would be much better for him to not to dwell much into this decision and concentrate on his cricket and think a proper time for his retirement from the side.

Yes I said retirement and please dont hang me for that, he is now over 35, an age proper for retirement and such rests will only increase as he moves up in the ladder of age.Not only he, also Sachin and Sourav must prepare for retirement for these two they know that presently they are playing for themselves and not their team. It proper time that old guard not immediatly but slowly and surely plan for their exit from the world of international cricket.
Therefore it would be in best interest of Dravid of not getting screwed in the world of selection and deselection and plan for an honorable retirement. It is in the best interests of him.
